Aberri Eguna
On April 8 the Basque National Party (EAJ-BNP) will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of its first Aberri Eguna at the Plaza Nueva square in Bilbao. ETA‘s announcement of a permanent cessation of its operations makes this the first Aberri Eguna to be held in peace since the restoration of democracy.

The day will therefore be marked by peace and an appeal to democratic principles as the sole path for political action and for claiming the rights of the Basque nation. The festivities will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the event will end with a lunch for everyone by the Arriaga theatre.
