The Basque Country exceeds the EU average in terms of competitiveness
Madrid and the Basque Country are the only two autonomous communities of the Spanish State over the European average in the Regional Competitiveness Index of the European Union, according to the data published by the European Commission this Monday.

Madrid, in 83rd position of the 263 regions considered by Brussels, is the best performing Spanish region in the EU overall, followed by the Basque Country (119), which also passes, and by Navarra (148) and Catalonia (153), with the latter two under the community average.
